Hong Kong has public holidays for all sorts of events. Yesterday was Buddha’s birthday, today is Labour day. The coronavirus pandemic has eased back in Hong Kong – no new cases for five days as of today but how long this will last I don’t know given that it is still rife in many parts of the world. We have now done three weeks of minimal face-to-face teaching which is going well. Next issue is going to be how to deliver this for the students who are not in the graduating class. There are rumours of a resumption of protest activity today, there will be the usual vigil on 4th June to mark the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989, and then 1st July will be HKSAR foundation day.
